Carol Dragon, Instructor

A one-day weekend workshop in Wilton, CT

Saturday May 9, 2009

9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

This class introduces and demystifies the many controls and menu items that terrify most of us when we buy a new digital SLR camera. Students will learn how to use all the settings and functions of their cameras as they practice taking digital photographs during the workshop. Topics will include file formats, white balance, shooting modes, formatting, correct exposure, histogram, focus and exposure. Through a slide show, demonstration and in class exercises we will learn how and when to use aperture, shutter and manual exposure, We will also review how to use basic camera features such as bracketing, exposure compensation, and quick ISO changes as they apply to a range of subjects on location.

We'll be discussing all the settings, finding them on the cameras in the morning and doing some basic shooting. After lunch we will be spending most of the time shooting.
